How to ship large items to from US to Sydney?

I would like to purchase a Precor Elliptical Trainer in the US; however, the shipping cost to Sydney by freight is $1000 USD extra. Any ideas on cheaper way of sending over to Australia? Or how to identify those moving to Australia soon, so I coordinate shipping with?
