Hi
A year ago I put up a message about the Overseas Vote Foundation. This is a non-partisan, non-profit, public charity that is committed to non-partisan overseas voter outreach and registration of overseas American citizens, State Department employees and active duty uniformed service members and their accompanying families to ensure greater overseas voter enfranchisement for US elections.
I have been working as a volunteer representative for the OVF here in Australia for the past year, trying to help other expat / business transfer American citizens to ensure they are able to register to vote in US state and federal elections.
As the US federal election is very imminent it is imperative for those American voters who may wish to participate in the election even if they are now residing in Sydney / Australia to ensure that they are registered in their previous state of residence. It is entirely possible for Americans residing outside the USA to be registered to vote in US elections, and any US citizen is able to register for and vote in US elections if they wish to vote, but it must be done quickly now that the election is only six weeks away.
In the few years OVF has been working to streamline and improve the online voter registration website to make it a completely integrated suite of voter services for overseas and Uniformed Services voters. This website will help anyone interested in registering to vote and will help answer any questions that may arise about how to go about registering to vote in US elections for any US state or territory where they were originally registered to vote, or if they have not previously registered.
Go to http://wwwoverseasvotefoundation.org/ and follow the links. This site will assist completion of the US government generated registration forms, and it will give appropriate information to help voters ensure they become registered to vote while residing outside the US during any future US elections.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me on nicholas_marshall1@yahoo.com.
