Congratulations on your baby!
We purchased most of our baby items from Baby Kingdom in Alexandria. As with Babies Galore, you'll find things are much more expensive here than in the states. I've also found a few things (high chair) at Toys R Us at Moore Park. Glad to see they finally have a Babies R Us here! I've found the cheapest baby clothes at Target, K-Mart and Big W. You also might want to check EBay Australia for the big items. Just remember that the car seat has to be Australian approved with a serial number.
As for baby registry I don't know of any that are linked US to Australia. Most friends & family overseas sent us baby clothes from Baby Gap & Old Navy since they don't have those stores here. If you have one more chance to go back to the states or know of anyone coming here, I would recommend stocking up on baby clothes. Good luck!

: 3) What are your recommendations for a baby
: registry that works for family in the US?
