Hi - The DIMIA (Dept of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs) website is quite thorough - here is a link to one section of the visas. If your husband's work would sponsor him - Employer Nominated sponsorship (and you as dependent), the process is pretty quick once you submit paperwork. Much of the supporting documentation will be similar to what you submitted for 457 visa.

: Hello,
: I'm hoping someone can point me in the right
: direction. My husband and I have a 457 visa
: now through his work. We want to get a
: permanent residence visa, or at least start
: working towards one (collecting paperwork
: and such). I checked online but am unable
: to find the proper information as to what we
: need exactly. Not sure if I'm looking in the
: right place or if it's a specific type of
: visa we need to get and I have come across
: the link. We've lived here for a year now
: on our temporary visa. I'm also employed
: but do not have my own 457 as my company
: does not sponsor people. Other than
: shifting though the internet I'm not sure
: where to start. Any information you might
: have would be helpful.
: Thanks in advance.
: Lauren
