The public schools on the Lower North Shore are very good, but you could always look at private schools - although the prices range from $10,000 to $20,000+ depending on the school and your child's age. There are also some wonderful public schools in the Inner West. Check out this article from this weekend's Sydney Morning Herald (http://www.domain.com.au/Public/Article.aspx?id=1243456728015&index=NationalIndex&headline=A%20lesson%20in%20location). Good luck with the move.

: Yet another person seeking advice on where in
: Sydney to live! I am married with three
: kids: School years 7, 2, and 1. They're very
: bright, so we'll be applying to selective
: high schools, but knowing that's far from
: certain, we need to live where we're
: guaranteed a catchment for an excellent
: comprehensive state high school. So far our
: front-runners are Killara and Cherrybrook.
: Any advice, pro or con, on those? Any other
: suggestions? Those are as far as I want to
: be from the CBD (50 minutes or so).
:
: Also, if anyone has an inside line on a
: house rental, please let me know; we'll need
: a 4-bedroom, or possibly a 3-bedroom if it
: was otherwise perfect.
:
: We've lived in the States our entire lives,
: so we're very excited but a little
: overwhelmed!
:
: Thanks!
