Hey Mary,
There is no age restriction on a student visa in Australia. You could find something you want to study, or further your studies in something you already have some qualifications in, and a student visa will allow you to stay for quite a while (as long as you are studying). AND, it lets you work legally for up to 20 hours per week. After you have been here for a while, and have figured out if you like it enough to stay, you can always apply for PR (permanent residency).
