Hi,
We moved here from NY 3 years ago and have to say we regret not selling everything before we left. Maybe others have a happier story, I found even if the stepdown transformers (About A$250.00) The power was just not as good as buying here.
We have had to replace our Kitchenaid (burnt out) and all our Delonghi small appliances here (coffee maker/blender/toaster), but at sale time you can get a really good deal. Plus there is a great store called Peter's of Kensington and Victorias Basement that have great deals along with factory stores for a cheaper brand called sunbeam and remington.
The only thing I am happy that we purchased before leaving was our Mac Laptops. They just need a new cord when you get here that has the Australian prongs.
Sorry for no better news. I would advise you to Ebay electronics before you get here.
