Don't do it! I agree with the other posters....most electronic equipment will fry on the system here. It will be ruined and you will have wasted all the money, no matter what the people selling you the stuff claim.
You can check out www.gumtree.com.au (like a local craigslist) to buy second hand electrical appliances once you get here, or wait for the after xmas sales.
