This message board is for Americans and their families and friends who may be moving to Sydney and for Americans already in Sydney that may have questions about relocating and adjusting to their new city and country.
As of today (11 May 2008) - all messages will require approval by the board administrator. We regret that we have to use this function as it slows down the communication process while you wait for approvals, and it is more work for us. However, due to the large number of spam and non-compliant posters, we will trial this function.

Please follow these simple rules when posting on our Message Board. Failure to comply may result in you being banned from future postings & the removal of your postings.
1) Please provide a valid email address on EACH posting. We do not want postings without an email address for two reasons: 1) Sometimes readers would like to provide info & responses offline and if they have your address, then they can send you a note. 2) If you can't stand by your posting then don't post! It's ok if you don't want to post your surname, but a valid email address is required. To avoid spam, you can use the format: chris at americansociety dot com dot au
2) Please only make constructive suggestions or comments! It is obvious when someone is trying to 'stir the pot' and antagonise, so if you don't have a genuine concern or question and are just trying to instigate trouble with anti-American, anti-Australian or other bigoted comments, we will remove your post and ban you. Go to some other forum, thanks.
3) No commercial adverstising - if you want to advertise on our website, please send a note to kate@americansociety.com.au to discuss. This does not include small, informal groups - i.e., non-profit or other social groups.
4) We encourage voting in every election, however, our message board is not a forum for any political discussions. Please do not post any political questions or statements as they will be deleted.
