In your quiz on Be and Get (Tricky Words), question 13 is:
After he ate that disgusting hamburger, he _____________________ sick all over the table.
A puked
B was
C got
In western Canada, "got sick" is used almost equally with "was sick". In the case of puking, they mean the same thing.
In the case of general sickness, they are both used but mean different things. "got sick" refers to the start of the sickness, and "was sick" refers to the duration.
I guess for vomiting, start and duration are usually the same thing.
