Come, let us reason together.
Posted by Kyaw Myaing on 10/9/2001, 9:10 am Reconciliation begins from the heart. It starts from the mind. There cannot be any form of reconciliation without understanding, forgiveness and compromise. I agree with you that there are spiritual matters that need attention at the national level. When the future govenment of Myanmar comes to power, they will have to deal with this issue with the help of spiritual advisors who have knowledge about these matters and these issues, especially the matter of "thaik". The people who understand these issues are people who have knowledge of "lawkiya pyinnya". Buddhist monks cannot deal with these issues because of the "viniya code". The coalition government that comes to power should form a "National Reconciliation Council" which can do coordination at the national level. Spiritual matters will also come under the purview of this council. That is what I hope to see. The members of this council should be selected properly. They should be men/women of learning, integrity, experience and good character. They should also have knowledge of international affairs and the politics of Myanmar. Regards and metta, Kyaw Myaing
Dear U Paw,
Most of all they should be people who have patience, understanding and like Gandhi "a big heart".
