Come, let us reason together.
Posted by Sphere on 1/16/2002, 8:04 am Maybe this is only the tip of an iceberg. There may be many things that cannot reconcile. Hanging on to "old times" (like Burma) is like hanging on to a dead person. For the country to move ahead one has to be realistic and live on present or reality. Always remember "Life goes on". Life does not stop at 1962 (Ne Win's revolution) or 1988 (SPDC's revolution) or 1990 (NLD's winning election). Now it's 2002. Then it will be 2003. Life moves on. It is really stupid to think life stand still!. Really. You got to move on whether you like or not. That's part of Life itself, isn't it?. So NLD has to give in to some unimportant little things like a "name". If NLD is so stubborn and so is SPDC, then it is impossible to reconcile. There's a possiblity the country will be destabilize. I think what Myanmar really needs is leaders of "Broad minded, Gentle and Wise" persons. Sensitive
I would like to add one more thing. On point #4 NLD still mention the name "Burma" in their declaration. I do not like that. Why on Earth is NLD still using the old name "Burma". That shows NLD is against SPDC. How can 2 sides reconciliate when 1 side's attitude is "against" the other?. Even with a name they cannot reconcile than forget about more serious and important things. That's why it is taking long long long time to progress because of this "attitude problem".
