The stumbling block that hinders Myanmar's development is "Sanctions". As soon as the sanctions lifted Myanmar will flourish fast. To lift the sanctions all SPDC has to do is release all political prisoners and move the dialogue from confidence building (17 months) to a level of genuine political dialogue. That's all. It is simple, easy and practical. The ball is in SPDC's court. US has already indicated she will lift the sanctions if the above "meaningful progress" developes. In other words if UM shows conspicuous actions of progress US will aid UM economically and militarily. I think it will be wise for UM to grab this rare opportunity. I really do not understands why the military government so scare of political prisoners. These prisoners has no guns you know. Let them have freedom!. It is only the responsibility of the government to free them as they are the ones who has the authority.
