Posted by Kyaw Myaing on 3/2/2002, 11:37 pm We have been giving our views and comments to the Myanmar government and to the UNDP on many development issues, at the highest level. One particular area is ICT - Information and Communications technology where we have advised that the best way for Myanmar to integrate fully with the rest of the world is to let Myanmar citizens use the World Wide Web. Since this is not possible in Myanmar due to the political situation, we have advised the setting up of a National Intranet. However, we cannot say in public, the modality of how the advice was given, and to whom. We can only say that we have access to the right people in the Government. We do not need to claim credit as long as the benefits accrue to the people of Myanmar. That is all we ask and we are perfectly satisfied to remain in "the shadow". Regards and metta, Kyaw Myaing
