UM (Union of Myanmar) definately needs "Think Tank". In this 21st Century a nation needs to find ways and means to tackle upcoming problems. We are living in a very dangerous time. One of the reason USA progress in many fields is she has many "Think Tanks". These groups not only contribute ideas and ways but also very helpful in solving many problems too!. As many people knows Thailand imitate American ways a lot that even in their ruling system has American style. The advancement of Thailand depends heavily on US. I saw one day on the TV an interview with one of Thailands' ex-Foreign minister, who came to US for education and went back Thailand and become a Minister in Thai Government. Myanmar is adapting some good things of Thailand while Thailand adapting good things about US.
In short what I would like to suggest is Myanmar instead of looking at Thailand for model, should look at US for model. Myanmar should not "prejudice" be a stumbling block in adapting "good things" of American ways. The world will see a "New US" that is "aggressively" promoting "Freedom and Democracy" throughout the entire World.
