My grandfather, Charles William Dunn, married my grandmother in Dargaville in 1896. He claimed to be 30 years old and to have been born in Inverness. I can find no record of his birth, nor of his existence prior to the marriage. He also claimed to have a brother Edward. After his marriage they spent time in the Shannon area and he died in Hawkes Bay in 1939
