Hi Jackie,
What a surprise to see your website. I am your cousin Betty (nee Mellis) 2nd daughter of Jim & Mary Mellis and sister to Shirley in Napier.
I have lived in Brisbane 37 years and married Jim Chainey of Stratford Taranaki. We have two sons Brad 32 and Jason 30. I have often thought of you as it is a long long time since we saw you but remember you all coming to visit us in Napier.
We really enjoy our time in Brisbane and it is hard to believe so many years have gone by. In 1999 we travelled to Canada and visited Aunty Lizzie's family. On our previous visit in 1984 we were privileged to spend some time with her and when we went back in 99 we caught up with Isobel and Betty and Isobel's family Gordon and Alexandria. Since then Betty has passed away and Isobel lost her husband. If you would like dates I would be able to dig them out for you.
Would love to hear from you Jackie. I note you ask about the Mellis's spending time in Australia on the way out. I think they went straight to NZ.
