To the best of my knowledge my grandfather (as it turns out great grandfather)went directly to NZ . Spent time in Palmerston Nth before heading to Hawkes Bay .
If you have any info to share , it would be greatly appreciated , as I have happy memories of him even though he died when I was very young.
I have a photo of him on my study wall & my Mum
has photos in NZ of us together .
