Dear Judy, thankyou for responding! I have two Thomas Dobbs ancestors: the one who emigrated had married his wife in Ireland, and her name was Frances Johnson. He must have been born about 1840. He had a son also called Thomas, who was my grandmother's uncle. He did not have a brother Henry though, so it looks like our two Dobbs families aren't closely linked, if at all. They came from Tun Duff Farm in Abbeyleix, and made their home in South Australia, not Victoria, where I live. Please write back if you like. Regards, Faisal Grant.
