My grandfather Harry Edwin Mills born 1894 in Avening Gloucestershire England went to New Zealand to work on a sheep ranch around about 1912-14.
I belive the ranch was calle Solitude located on the North Island,names like High Rubay,Matnata Dargavill
Rotorue could help,these spelling may not be correct.
This ranch was also worked on byhis uncle William Mills born1863 also in Gloucestershire.
Edwin Mills joined the New Zealand Army and fought in France 1914-1918 war,he did not return to England
