i have a breastcollar that hooks like this....

and i have seen them hooked onto the girth strap latigo ring as well.
I prefer a breast collar be hooked onto the front of the saddle up higher as it is in the pic, as it doesnt rub on the shoulders. BUT i ride endurance, what works for me might not work for you.
