My arena started out as a nice grass field. Then after two years it became a hard packed clay field.
To keep our costs down, we mixed in sand and manure from the paddocks into the clay. We did it slowly over a year. It is now very nice and soft. We harrow it weekly and have a vendor come out every 3-4 months to fluff and level it. My horse LOVES it!
