We have a draft cross breed that has been diagnosed with scratches caused by his immune system not able to fend off a certain bacteria and is being treated for this. In Humans, sugar feeds bacteria. Question: I have been told that Draft breeds should not be fed carbs such as grain hays (oat, etc.) grain, corn, etc. They should get their energy from rice bran, corn oil, and their fiber from alfalfa and grass hay. What do you feed your draft breeds? Thank you.
