And I prefer them because they also don't rub or pull at the hair.
My poor mare is absolutely swamped in flies. I've probably dumped about a gallon of fly spray on her in two days and she's still covered in them. Went on a trail ride with my dad and his horse didn't have any spray on at all and not one fly. My mare was drenched in spray and yet she had a whole flock of flies all over. They're really bad this year.
Also, the mesh sheets are usually of a finer weave and prevent smaller things such as mosquitoes and gnats from landing.
