It seems that breeders and breed associations are only interested in the immediate gain of cash from sales/registrations, be damned if someone gets hurt (emotionally or physically) down the line. If people stopped buying AQHA horses because of this, they might listen.
By the way, while the issue driving this with AQHA is HYPP, there are similar defects driving the same bad behaviour with other breeds.
