Regardless of the breed, lysine is one of the most important amino acids for a growing horse. Some grass hays don't contain enough, while alfalfa is an excellent source. That doesn't mean you need to feed a lot of alfalfa, but you may want to add 5 lbs a day to the grass hay diet for the next year. Depending on how your grass hay tests, that may be more calcium than you need, so you would need to bump up the magnesium and phosphorus, along with the traces.
In addition to the protein, you want to make sure he is receiving adequate amounts of both major and trace minerals in the correct ratios to each other. EGM Stable Mix will supply a lot of energy, but the trace minerals are not supplied in the most absorbable form. Last time I checked they were mostly oxides and it tested high in iron.
If you don't want to add alfalfa, try Uckele's Tri Amino product for a quality protein source.
