In your original post your mentioned hourly and that threw me off. Guided trail rides usually last several hours if not all day. I don't know of any guided trail riding outfits that do less than 3 hour trail rides. Insurance is also rather steep for those types of ventures in CA. I added a trail riding/instruction clause to my insurance when I was doing riding lessons so I could take my students out on trail. The insurance company wanted to make sure that I was taking out only my students and not doing a rental string. I was limited to how many horses and riders were out with me and how often a week I did the lessons.
