doing an autopsy to discover what could have been wrong. That is what they did to a horse from our ranch. There was no question that he needed to be put down. The autopsy showed he had wide spread cancer.
Like I mentioned, that would be useful for the education of the vets and students, but your horse would be stressed out from the trailer ride (from what I remember you saying about her). I hope you have a good support group to help you through this, even if it's just someone to have a good cry with. It's a tough situation.
