horses that are no longer needed by UC Davis are sold through CEH to private individuals. Some of the horses go for way below meat prices... of course UCD has no control of where they end up after they are sold. If you go to the CEH web page they have a link to their sale horses. Most of the horses they sell are the foals that are born there as a result of their repro teaching program. Nice foals.... I bought 3 and still have 1.
Was your horse you donated a chesnut paso mare? If so I remember her. That horse was donated with the understanding that she would be euthanized and she had DSLD terribly bad.
