Acc to our vet, the WNV vaccination is effective for a year and only needed annually in the Spring vs. bi-annually now. He said continuing to vaccinate 2x/year won't do any harm and he would do if an owner still wants it.
So, we're debating: $35 shot to be sure vs $$$ for treatment assuming horse survives the virus. We're in the East Bay and mosquito activity is less during winter. Horses have been on the 2x/year schedule so it's not as if they haven't been fully vaccinated. There hasn't been an outbreak in our area. Would you vaccinate again now?
