When I went from CA to Florida via the southern most route Hwy 10 you get stopped at the Arizona border and then not again until you reach Florida and they run your health papers and coggins through a computer scan. Now when traveling through the north I went all the way to Aspen and Jackson Hole Wy and only had to show papers at CA border and WY but on the way back had to stop at each state crossing and had to have brand inspection papers also that route. CA is the toughest to get into with out of state hay so make sure you are coming home without CO hay as it might have the vesticular stomachitis problems.
