Sorry to hear about your nephew. I cringe when I see/hear people feeding babies or children soy like it's a health food. I personally know of 2 baby boys born with incomplete *ahem* parts, requiring surgery, and both mothers ate mostly vegetarian with lots of soy.
But I never considered how feeding flax to horses could cause a problem. I almost hate to find out, as flax has been good for us. Everyone's skin and coat looks beautiful, and the old ones bones don't creak so bad. You really think a 1/2 cup or so of ground flax can be as bad as soy??
'Tis strange that there's so much IR & cushing's around. Or maybe people just aren't riding their horses enough, yet still feeding them as if they were?
