a good practitioner using a hand float...
My dentist Phil Ratliff takes about 20 minutes with a hand float. Most adjustments he does are not much more than the thickness of a sheet of paper. The results speak for themselves when a horse's mouth is properly balanced. I'll tell you CSU is still teaching all their vet students to use power floats, as long as there are people going to vet school who do not have the arm strength to properly use hand floats there will be power tools. After talking to Phil about dentistry a CSU grad was horrified to recall the last day of class they all went to town on a group of senior horses with power floats and likely destroyed their teeth.
I would highly recommend looking into practitioners that have studied with Spencer LaFlure: http://www.advancedwholehorse.com/
