when my dentist works on a horse he prefers as little sedation as possible if it is needed at all. He floated my two touchy mares (who are happier now) with no sedation and no speculum. I watched him adjust a couple of other horses who were suffering from the results of "good" power floating and his adjustments changed them completely for the better, no more unexplained body soreness, no more cranky attitude
