Your description of "ramming and half ass job " only applies to the bad ones... There is no ramming involved in a good hand float. I don't want anyong just hacking away with the old style float blades, you need someone with precision hand tools. It can be very comfortable for the horse, and doesn't take as much strength to do either. Done right, it is a good thing...
