Your vet should work with your wishes but remember that you are asking for him to do a lot more physical work by hand floating a horse that has not been done before.So expect to pay a higher price than a power float. The veterinarians are very careful of their arms, rotator cuffs as this is what they make there living with, lots of suturing and looking into eyes with their ophthalmoscopes so need steady hands and arms. An injury because of a large horse with a bad mouth is not good for his business. Sometimes they will call someone that they work with who will do the manual labor so they don't have to. Do not be afraid of your vets decision as he has been trained to be professional. Just talk it out with him with your concerns
