I rode with a group there some years ago and we parked by the Mar Vista stables and we actually rode all the way to Golden Gate Park, had a beautiful picnic there. It was so much fun, be aware that the hang gliders launch off the cliff there and it can get a little exciting.
We arrived early so had no problem parking.
Unplanned dismounts, a way to get down and dirty..
