Well said Gail. The other part of the equation is the riders mind too. Many times WE bring the scary thing back into the horse. The horse is not thinking of the bike...it became a non issue when the horse realized it is just passing by and not attacking. HOwever, it has been a while and the rider sees the bike and thinks 'oh no, my horse always has an issue with the bike' then focuses on the bike and braces...the horse picks up on the brace in the rider, looks at the focus and goes 'oh $i^^ !! this bike is bad!!" and they are back at ground 0.
