We have both. I have gotten good assistance with each, in different situations. I lucked out after losing my clutch in WY, and the tow driver (AAA referred) towed my trailer to the fairgrounds so I could stable my horse while the truck was fixed. Another AAA call when driving a friends' rig in CA, and the driver not only wouldn't tow the trailer, he wouldn't unhook it from the truck, even after the horse had been unloaded and picked up by another trailer.
I have had long waits from both companys. Really it just depends on the tow driver availabilities.
We like the dmv assistance and travel discounts of AAA, so we have both. Honestly, the piece of mind is nice.
