They are super comfortable with just enough give to sooth my sports abused ankles, but not nearly as floppy as the jointed ones. They also seem to stay with me better than the heavy iron ones. Especially when my mare jumps me out of the tack.
I can't help you on the leathers. I am looking for the exact same thing! So hopefully someone will chime in.
