I give a selenium supplement, but I had my horse's blood level selenium tested first, and the dosage was per the vet's advice after seeing the results of the blood test. I used Platinum Performance Antioxidant Formula which has selenium yeast. Too much selenium can be toxic--we grew hay commercially up in Modoc county and sometimes our hay would test high in selenium due to water issues.
