My beloved mare Sony, an appy/TB, had carcinoma in one eye. I should have let the vet take the eye out, we opted to treat, but it came back and eventually her eye was removed. She was much happier with one eye only and got around fine, the relief from the pain of the recurring cancer was apparent.
