When the vet came out the first time, he took his temp. It was normal. He keeps asking me if there is nasal discharge, which would be the indicator for an upper respiratory infection.
I have been checking for discharge, and there never seems to be any. Before he went on the antibiotics and Dex, I could tell he wasn't himself. After the course of meds, he looked to be in much better spirits.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Hope your horse came out of it OK.
