I've moved to fulfilling my need to feed by feeding snacks of grass hay. One 50# bag of grain lasts my mare between 95 and 100 days. I pre-baggie them all to keep the grain more fresh. This is a huge change from her mom who used to go though a bag in two weeks. I really probably don't even need to feed it but a half pound never hurt.
