I've done both the ride and drive with them My riding gelding is retired now, he's also the one I learned to drive with. My driving gelding is drive only, I have no desire to ride something that can be that hot and is that powerful. Not all draft horses are quiet and easy going. He is beautifully trained to do his job, and I'm not asking him to multi-task 
We bought two Andalusian crosses at Expo last year, that's the black and the buckskin you may see in the orchard. We bought them for riding horses, riding Shires can be a little impractical sometimes, especially on single tracks!
