The D has good tongue relief, swivel mouth for more flexibility, could use hole in top for headstall or not, if so would cause poll pressure for better headsetting. Works mostly on bars of mouth like most snaffles but also has benefit of not pulling through the mouth. Good for a more seasoned horse but might be too much for greenie. The Kimberwicke works on bars, poll and chin, because of the short purchase would not be considered huge poll pressure but still has it more then the D. Also being fixed mouth piece would be suitable for more seasoned horse but not a greenie at all. If you are looking for stopping power then start working on getting reins connected to the feet through lateral and bending exercises.
