You have to understand that when you buy the drug online it telling you a prevention dose, not therapeutic. As stated in the above sentence "efectively prevent stomach ulcers". Thereapeutic dose is a full tube for at least 10 days, some vets recommend more. I use 2,800 for 10 days, then 2,100 for 10 days, then 1,400 for 10 days. During that time I have already started them on a probiotic and chia seeds and so far all horses treated in my care have done well. If the tablets are 20mg each you would need 140 pills. The pills I get which are designed for horses are 700mg each and I use 4 for the first 10 days. I did just read a recent study that did suggest that a smaller does might be just as effective, of course I would think that would depend on the severeity of the ulcer and whether or not horse was removed from the stress in its life.
