What we do at our retirement place

We take 10 days to transition them over to fresh pasture. We start with 15 minutes of pasture grazing in the morning and another 15 minutes at night. We add on 15 minutes to both sessions each day until day 10, when their system should be capable of handling an all day turn out. If the transition period is done during the hot Summer time frame, I will turn them out for 12 hours only at night for the first 5 days to avoid the high sugars and carbs that come with the day time highs. So it's basically a 15 day transition period during the hot Summer months.
