You kind of have to feel around and find the place
where it starts coming apart and
then just keep working the dead hair out.
Pulling apart laterally really helps.
A brush or comb doesn't do much good until the 'wad' is out.
Most of the hair is already dead and loose
so you're not wrecking anything.
Plain old soap and water, just to get it clean
or Cowboy Magic on DRY hair lubes it up.
Seems easiest to just use your fingers to work through it.
Usually about a half hour to get one like this squared away.
