on many of the same meds--he doesn't have Cushings, but our vet recommends Adequan every other week. Loomis Basin is pretty competitive on many medicines--I buy Adequan in the 10 dose vial for about $360 ($36/dose) and Previcox is $160 for the same bottle you mentioned. And as others have said, some of the online pharmacies (Valley Vet, FarmVet) and Costco have these medicines, as well. But you do need your vet to provide a prescription. Add joint and hoof supplements, and the fact that he can only eat pelleted feed, and it is pretty expensive. As long as he is enjoying life, I will keep it up--after all, he earned his retirement by teaching my daughter to really ride. (But I do sometimes think of the extra money I will have at some point in the future--especially when he annoys me by peeing in the barn aisleway!!)
